A lot of students have some problems with Q courses, especially in the beginning of their college experience. Almost all students wish that their Q courses would go more smoothly. There is good support available on campus if you want something explained one more time and maybe from a different point of view than the one you saw in class, or if you are stuck with an exercise or simply don't feel entirely confident that your solution to a problem is the right one.

You should consider the following options:

Q Center

• The Q Center is featured in the "Views" section of Inside Higher Ed.
• Read an article on the Q Center in the Advance.
• Have a look at today's schedule or the full schedule for more detailed information.
• Look for tutors by subject: MATH, STAT, CHEM, BIOL, PHYS, ECON, CSE
• Tutoring is offered for a long list of Q courses.

Departmental Resources

• MATH : During the semester, all calculus teaching assistants have one hour per week in the Q Center.
• PHYS : The Physics Learning Resourse Center
• CHEM : Office hours for Chem 127 and 128 from 9 AM to 4 PM in Room T201 (Chemistry building)
  For other office hours, you have to login to Husky CT
• STAT : The Department of Statistics Tutoring Schedule
• ECON : The Department of Economics Tutoring Schedule
• ENGR : The School of Engineering Tutoring Schedule

First Year Programs
The website of the First Year Programs lists many options in the following categories:

• Peer Education
• Supplemental Instruction which lists various - usually "big lecture hall" type - courses for which weekly review sessions are organized.
• A list of Tutoring by Topic which mainly consists of tutoring offered by the departments.

Private Tutoring
Unlike all the other options on this page, private tutoring is not free. The Q Center keeps a list of private tutors.
